Anya Farm

Anya Farm is a 10-acre regenerative farm just outside Homer, IL, about 20 miles southeast of Champaign-Urbana. Its name is intentional: when you say “Anya Farm,” it sounds like “on your farm” – an invitation to share this place and a reflection of the belief that land is something we share and care for in common, not just something we own. I’ve always felt profoundly grateful and honored to steward this little pocket of life in the middle of a sea of conventional agriculture, a slice of refuge where soil, plants, animals, and people come to heal, rejuvenate, and remember the gift of being alive. My goal is to open that experience so others can feel it as their farm too, and carry those lessons back to their own lives and landscapes.
Anya Farm practices holistic, circularly managed, regeneratively grown produce systems to prepare meals, co-learn and educate, and consult. The work here is guided by the 6 Principles of Regenerative Agriculture and 6 Principles of Human Gut Health, and puts these into practice in everyday, real-world application.       I use this produce to help feed farmers during their busy seasons through my platform Meals to Fields. Local produce from Anya Farm and similar partner operations helps build a resilient network of food throughout the season when facing ever-changing conditions.
In partnership with other regenerative farms, Anya Farm also hosts an interactive series called Food is Medicine – teaching food preservation (fermenting, dehydrating, canning, freezing); tailoring dietary menus to what you can grow and harvest seasonally; and creating medically tailored nutrition from regeneratively grown foods. This work helps connect the dots from soil to human health. To learn more about this and why I made these connections, see the video Healing from the Ground Up. These conscious choices and decision making networks are also reflected in the Systems Engineering work through Knecht Research Consulting & Design.
